Owners of the uniquely retro Mach 1 Mustangs were blessed with the same great engine that Cobra owners had in 2001, but with the extra added bonus of the cool shaker hood assembly. Knowing that the Mach 1 owners love the shaker and it's function, C&L came up with a complete system that replaced everything from the throttle body forward, yet still retained the full function of the shaker induction system. Not only does this system improve performance, but it also greatly improves the underhood appearance. Most notably, the original inlet tube featured a large silencer box that covered up the view of the factory air meter.
When installing this package, the air fuel ratio has been dyno tuned as a complete system to provide an ideal 12.9-13.2:1 ratio. If you plan on using an aftermarket computer chip or re-flash, we strongly recommend that you use one that does not alter the fuel (by leaning it out) for best results. Otherwise, the air/fuel ratio that you may experience will be leaner than what is ideal for maximum performance. Some newer tuners allow for fuel adjustments, and we would strongly recommend that you use this feature with the aid of a wide band air/fuel ratio monitor for best results. If you do not have a computer chip or re-flash, then you do not need to be concerned with this as you will certainly have the ideal air/fuel ratio when using this kit.
The 10699M1 kit replaces the MAF housing and air filter assembly while retaining the function of the shaker scoop. The complete system (10699M1-P) includes the inlet pipe to replace everything in front of the throttle body. Please note that the inlet pipe is not intended to be used with the stock air meter and filter assembly.
